Mirror Lake is a 333-acre water body located in Carroll County in the Lakes Region of central New Hampshire in the towns of Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro. Approximately half the shoreline and lakeside residents reside in each town. The lake connects to Lake Winnipesaukee by a short outlet stream which runs under Route 109 but which is not navigable. Lang Pond Road and Route 109 border Mirror Lake and the Libby Museum sits on the shore. There is a public beach adjacent to Lang Pond Road on Mirror Lake where canoes and kayaks can be launched. Larger boats may use the public boat launch located on Route 109.  Mount Shaw, a 2,900-foot peak and highest point of the Ossipee Mountain range, is often reflected in Mirror Lake.

Bear sightings!

Bear sightings around Mirror Lake are becoming more common. NH Fish and Game advises taking down bird feeders; firmly securing trash containers; thoroughly cleaning grills; and not leaving food of any kind in cars, sheds, decks etc. Keep doors and windows locked at night and when you leave the house. Bears will avoid ammonia soaked rags and loud noises such as clanging pots and pans, airhorns, yelling, clapping and such.
