Granite State News – Our Town

In the June 21st, 2012 edition of the Granite State News is a wonderful article discussing the steps being undertaken to protect the waters of Mirror Lake.  Dusty Davies has worked diligently to bring state and local government bodies together in a common mindset, that of protecting the waters of the Mirror Lake Watershed.  The MLPA volunteers have selflessly given of their time and shown that with dedicated effort a local gem can be protected.

A special thanks to Elissa Paquette who wrote the article and Tom Beeler, Editor for sharing the article with the MLPA.

Bear sightings!

Bear sightings around Mirror Lake are becoming more common. NH Fish and Game advises taking down bird feeders; firmly securing trash containers; thoroughly cleaning grills; and not leaving food of any kind in cars, sheds, decks etc. Keep doors and windows locked at night and when you leave the house. Bears will avoid ammonia soaked rags and loud noises such as clanging pots and pans, airhorns, yelling, clapping and such.
